High School Nurse
Qualifications:
Register Nurse license required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Demonstrate adequate verbal and written language skills and serve as a role model for adults and students. Operational knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets. Additionally, the school nurse must have good, moral character and ethical code, and sufficient physical and mental abilities to perform duties. Can take direction and has organizational skills. Is self-directed and loves children and young adults.
Job Duties:
The school nurse provides daily medical care of a routine nature and those under the direction of a licensed doctor. The school nurse will dispense medications as per board policy; make referrals for vaccinations and more advanced medical care. Serve as a representative on case conference committee or Section 504 meetings to determine a plan for those students requiring medical attention.
Schedule: 8 hours a day, 188 days
