Highway Engineer
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency.
- Implement quality control and assurance procedures throughout the construction process.
- Ensure compliance with national and international highway engineering codes and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Enforce safety guidelines to minimize workplace hazards.
- Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and local authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site staff.
- Prepare project reports, progress updates, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of project specifications, contracts, and design changes.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in highway construction, road design, or infrastructure development.
- Familiar with design software.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in diverse and remote locations with multi-stakeholder teams.
- Experience with construction management practices and contract administration
