Teaching range · Preschool Chinese to Secondary 4 O-Level Chinese

Can you help a preschooler build the confidence to speak Mandarin, guide a Primary 6 student through PSLE Chinese, and prepare a secondary student for O-Level Chinese? Join TutorJohn Learning Centre to teach across these levels and lead the Chinese programme at our Choa Chu Kang and Tampines centres.

What you’ll do

Teach Chinese from preschool to O-Level

* Teach small-group Chinese tuition across preschool, Primary 1–6, and Secondary 1–4, including PSLE Chinese and O-Level Chinese preparation. You must be able to teach the full range.

* Adapt lessons to each level, from speaking, listening and character recognition in preschool to composition, comprehension, oral communication and exam technique in primary and secondary school.

* Identify learning gaps, plan targeted practice, track progress, and give parents clear feedback on what their child is improving and what to work on next.

Own the Chinese curriculum

* Build and maintain the scheme of work, lesson progression and assessment plan for each level.

* Develop and review in-house lesson plans, worksheets, answer keys, teaching notes and revision packs. Check that materials match the relevant Singapore syllabus and exam requirements.

* Use student work and assessment results to improve lesson pacing, materials and revision plans.

Lead the Chinese teaching team across both locations

* Guide tutors on lesson delivery, marking and feedback. Review teaching materials, observe lessons and coach tutors on specific improvements.

* Keep curriculum coverage and teaching standards consistent across Choa Chu Kang and Tampines.

* Work with centre operations on class placement, tutor allocation, lesson handovers and new class launches. Regular on-site work and teaching at both locations are required.

Who we’re looking for

* Strong spoken and written Mandarin, with the ability to teach Chinese clearly to students of different ages and proficiency levels.

* Experience teaching Singapore primary and secondary Chinese, including PSLE and O-Level preparation, and the ability to teach age-appropriate preschool Chinese.

* Experience designing curriculum or creating teaching materials, with the ability to guide tutors and give practical feedback.

* A relevant qualification in Chinese Language, Education or a related field, or equivalent teaching and curriculum experience.

* Prior experience as a lead tutor, subject head or curriculum lead is an advantage.
