Hiring: Senior Backend Engineer

Our client, a fast-growing technology-driven organization, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team. This role will focus on building and scaling the core backend infrastructure and shared services that serve as the foundation for multiple business-critical applications. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing distributed systems, developing platform services, and owning solutions throughout their entire lifecycle—from architecture and development to deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend microservices that provide shared capabilities across the organization.
• Build and maintain data platform services responsible for aggregating, processing, and distributing large volumes of external and internal data.
• Develop high-performance real-time data delivery solutions leveraging event-driven architectures and streaming technologies.
• Design and implement secure authentication and identity management services, including OAuth2-based integrations and access control frameworks.
• Develop API gateway capabilities, including request routing, traffic management, rate limiting, and security enforcement.
• Build experimentation and feature management platforms to support controlled feature rollouts and data-driven product development.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to define service contracts, platform standards, and integration strategies.
• Drive technical design decisions and contribute to the evolution of the organization's backend architecture.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong expertise in designing distributed systems and microservices architectures.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Spring Boot, or equivalent backend development frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database design principles.
• Experience owning production services, including deployment, monitoring, performance optimization, and incident management.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and make sound architectural decisions independently.
