Reports To: HME Foreman

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an HME Maintenance Mechanical Trainer to join and grow our team. Reporting to the HME Trainer, the HME Maintenance Trainer's overall position objective is to provide Training, systems, and strategies that deliver accepted best practice in the maintenance of mining equipment, which will leverage available equipment to deliver safe, profitable gold production, as well as facilitate training and upskilling of the workforce through industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruction and Training: Develop and deliver training programs on heavy equipment systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

  • Hands-on Coaching: Mentor junior mechanics and trainees, guiding best practices for repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Safety Training: Instruct on safety regulations, hazardous conditions, and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards like OSHA.

  • Curriculum Development: Create and update training materials and documentation related to equipment maintenance and repair procedures.

  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct tests and evaluations to assess trainee proficiency and ensure equipment repairs meet specifications.

  • Mentoring and Support: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence among trainees.

  • Stay Updated: Stay current with industry advancements, technological developments, and manufacturer guidelines to enhance training content.

  • Record Keeping: Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities, repair logs, and equipment performance metrics.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Test

  • Extensive knowledge of Sandvik UG Trackless Mining Equipment

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years working on mechanized mining equipment.

  • Exposure to work with automation of underground mechanized mining equipment.

  • Exposure to industry-best preventative maintenance regimes is imperative to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to a high level of availability at all times.

  • The ability to prioritize repairs and take instructions to reduce

  • Downtime and delays are foremost in maximizing machine availability and operator utilization.

  • Must have proven experience working as part of a high-speed Mechanization

  • Knowledge of Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills (DD321, DD421, DD422i & DL210, DL321, DL331, DU311 and DS421), Loaders (LH307, LH410, LH514 and LH621i) and Trucks (TH545i and TH663i). Auxiliary equipment (Normet Charmec MC605, Spraymec SF050, Maclean Charmec EC2, Boom Truck BT3, Agi Truck TM2 and Volvo L90H, L120H).
