Position Summary

The Hospice Billing Specialist is responsible for managing, coordinating, and processing all hospice and palliative care billing. This role ensures accurate charge entry, timely payment posting, effective accounts receivable management, and prompt resolution of billing issues and insurance denials while providing excellent customer service to patients and families.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Process hospice and palliative care billing accurately and promptly.
• Enter charges, post payments, and maintain accurate billing and accounts receivable records.
• Review and follow up on insurance denials, billing discrepancies, and outstanding balances.
• Manage private-pay collections when insurance is canceled, denied, or otherwise unavailable.
• Prepare and send invoices, bills, financial statements, and payment reminders.
• Reconcile billing accounts with accounts receivable records to ensure payments are properly recorded.
• Respond professionally to patient and family billing questions and resolve concerns.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivable reports and maintain compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
