About the Role
Lagos Executive Cardiovascular Centre, a multidisciplinary cardiovascular and cardiac rehabilitation 24/7 facility, is seeking a Hospital Accountant to support financial management and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records per accounting standards and policies
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Monitor revenue cycles, including patient billing, insurance claims, and HMO reconciliations
- Ensure proper accounting for cash collections, POS transactions, and hospital revenues
- Prepare and monitor departmental budgets and expenditure reports
- Support cost control initiatives and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Monitor inventory-related financial transactions (pharmacy, medical consumables)
- Develop and implement financial controls and policies
- Support management with strategic planning and decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 years' accounting experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of hospital billing systems, HMOs, and revenue cycle management
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
