Job Overview

Specialty Medical Staffing has an exciting opportunity for an experienced PRN Hospital Pharmacist at a psychiatric hospital in Washington, DC. This position is ideal for a pharmacist seeking flexible, part-time coverage opportunities in an inpatient behavioral health setting.

The assignment includes every-other-weekend coverage, select weekdays, and holiday shifts, with ongoing needs until a permanent pharmacist is hired.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and safety.

• Perform medication pre-packing and dispensing.

• Fill Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.

• Deliver medications to patient care units as needed.

• Support medication management within an inpatient psychiatric setting.

• Maintain compliance with hospital pharmacy policies and regulatory standards.

• Work independently during weekends and holidays when technician support is unavailable.

Requirements

• Active Washington, DC pharmacist license required.

• PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

• Experience with medication verification and pre-packing.

• Ability to work independently without technician support.

• Experience with Cerner and Omnicell preferred; on-site training available.

• Availability for weekend, weekday, and/or holiday coverage.

• Ability to participate in on-call coverage.

Available Coverage

Regular Schedule:

• Every other Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Additional Dates:

• November 11: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

• November 27: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

• December 21–24: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

• December 25 (Holiday): 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

• December 26–27: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

• December 28–31: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

• January 1 (Holiday): 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
