Summary
Leads a team of journalists to produce news and feature content for broadcast, web, and social media, requiring fluency in a target language and deep regional expertise.
- Serves as a team leader, assigning work and coaching team members and reporting to management on their performance
- Writes and produces news and feature content and programming as assigned for use in broadcasts and web and social media
- Conducts and writes up interviews for inclusion in his/her assigned stories
- Adapts and/or translates content produced in English into native language, as assigned
- Voices material for/during broadcasts as assigned, including material prepared by others
- As assigned, edits and approves copy and content prepared or written by others for broadcast and/or publication for inclusion in his/her assigned stories
- Meets VOA standards for productivity, quality, and meeting deadlines
- Serves as anchor/program host as assigned
- Works independently or as a member of a team
- Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area
- Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties
- Other related duties as assigned

This is not an announcement for a federal job. This position is for employment as a personal services contractor with VOA News. All personal service contractors must pass a thorough background check.
