Position Summary:
The Host is responsible for providing a welcoming and professional experience for guests as they enter the restaurant. This role includes greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, answering phones, and maintaining a smooth flow of the dining room. The Host works closely with the management and service team to ensure that all guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and promptly as they enter the restaurant.

• Manage reservations and maintain an organized waitlist during busy periods.

• Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortable.

• Provide guests with menus and inform them of daily specials.

• Answer phones, take reservations, and assist with general inquiries.

• Communicate wait times to guests and manage seating arrangements.

• Monitor the dining room and coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to maintain smooth service.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.

• Assist with the set-up and maintenance of dining areas, including resetting tables and arranging seating.

• Ensure that guests have everything they need for an enjoyable dining experience, including refilling drinks and providing additional utensils.

• Assist in handling guest complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

• Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to remain calm and efficient during busy periods.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with seating guests.

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Work Environment:
This position requires standing for long periods, interacting with customers, and working in a fast-paced, often noisy environment. Hosts may be exposed to varying temperatures from the restaurant kitchen and dining areas.

Physical Essential Functions:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts (up to 8 hours).

• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to assist with seating and organizing dining areas.

• Ability to lift and carry items such as menus, drink trays, and other materials up to 50 pounds.

• Repeated use of hands for writing, answering phones, and operating reservation systems.
