The Heirloom Room is Rocky Waters Motor Inn's signature fine dining experience, rooted in the rich culinary traditions of Appalachia. As a Host, you are the first and last impression our guests have of The Heirloom Room — the warm, welcoming presence that sets the tone for the entire dining experience from the moment they walk through the door. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering a polished, courteous guest experience on every shift.

What You'll Do

Guest Experience & Service

• Warmly greet and escort guests to their tables, ensuring a welcoming and seamless arrival experience
• Maintain positive guest relations throughout the dining experience, addressing needs and concerns with courtesy and professionalism
• Be aware of wait times and communicate them clearly and proactively to guests
• Extend a genuine, courteous farewell to every departing guest
• Maintain familiarity with the menu and highlight featured items for guests when appropriate

Operations & Standards

• Maintain complete knowledge of table and seat numbers and proper table setups
• Guide servers and bus persons on table setup and guest flow throughout each shift
• Stay in constant communication with servers, kitchen, and management to ensure timing and food preparation is synchronized with guest flow
• Check with the kitchen regularly to confirm menu item availability
• Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room at all times
• Restock supplies and complete closing duties as assigned
• Follow all AATMOS standard operating procedures and service standards

What We're Looking For

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior customer service experience strongly preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Warm, approachable demeanor with strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to memorize and describe menu items and navigate a fast-paced dining environment independently
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and solve problems independently when needed

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout each shift and lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working primarily indoors with some outdoor patio exposure and varying temperatures
