Greets and seats guests, manages reservations, and supports dining operations.
You are the first line that the guests have when they either call or walk in. You are on stage so there should be smiles and salutations when a guest walks in. You are going to learn how to answer the phone the DeRomo’s way. You are going to learn how to WOW people. You are going to learn how to take control of a situation, to be empowered to give people what they want when they want it.
Essential Functions:
- Greet guests and introduce yourself (name) and that you are their host/hostess
- Reply in a very professional tone when responding to guests.
- Answer all incoming calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Book reservations with the assistance of Open Table.
- Send confirmations to guests after making a reservation or upon request of a guest.
- Place any notes pertinent to guest’s dining experience.
- Quote correct reservation times and head counts.
- Assists guest with inquiries, cancellations, or modifications to existing reservations.
- Assist in bussing tables and/or directing bussers to tables particularly during high volume times.
- When seating guests do not walk so fast, they have to race to catch up with you. Walk and talk casually with them as you make your way to seat each guest.
- As guests are seated provide menu’s to female guests first.
- Advise the table of their server’s name and that they will be over shortly to take their drink order.
- Utilize MICROS and Open Table frequently throughout shift.
- Ensure side work is complete, front of the house area is cleaned after closing to comply with state regulations
