Host/Hostess
Esplanade Golf and Country Club, located in Naples, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Host/Hostess! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. Summary:
We are looking for a main host/hostess to help the team at Esplanade. This organized, cheerful, and helpful individual will assist in keeping track of daily reservations, seating tables, organizing floor charts, preparing menu prints, assisting with some front desk tasks, and more!
Schedule:
Hours are negotiable but would mainly be Tuesday–Saturday, alternating 12pm–8pm and 2pm–close (business dependent), with some rotating Sundays.
What We're Looking For:
Ideal candidates are organized, customer service-centric, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Hosts and hostesses receive and seat guests at the restaurant facility, while ensuring that guests are given friendly, attentive, and efficient service in the dining room. Beginners are welcome — while at least a few months of experience is preferred, it is not required for the position.
Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work weekends and holidays, as needed. Our team has made a conscious effort to ensure strong protocols are in place to keep you and our patrons safe, so you can focus on the customer experience, camaraderie, and dining room management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcomes each guest with a friendly greeting and escorts them to their assigned table.
- Seats guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists and following and enforcing check issue procedures.
- Assigns opening and closing side duties and supervises side work; ensures completed setups of all stations before service staff departure.
- Assists with side work, including bussing tables and taking cocktail orders.
- Maintains the reservation book, takes incoming telephone calls, and notes reservations and special requests by guests.
- Retains knowledge of all menu items, prices, and general service procedures.
- Maintains standards of appearance and cleanliness in all service areas.
- Remains visible on the dining room floor and is easily accessible to guests, staff, and management.
- Checks all tables before service to ensure proper settings.
- Communicates guest requests and concerns to the department manager.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
Knowledge/Skill:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of the point of sale (POS) system.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Must complete Alcohol Awareness Training.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and listen.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. regularly.
- Occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, use hands, taste, smell, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
