- Review the daily restaurant information, including dining room layout, table/ section numbers, seating capacity, operating hours, menu, price range, dress code and special arrangements.
- Answer telephone calls within three rings using proper salutations and telephone etiquette and handle restaurant reservations and cancellations accurately.
- Review the reservation book, pre-assign tables, follow up on special requests and communicate reservation changes to the Supervisor/ Manager.
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, confirm reservations and escort guests to their designated tables according to the floor plan while ensuring fair table allocation among waitstaff.
- Present menus to guests and ensure tables are properly set, clean and ready for service.
- Anticipate and manage busy periods and waiting lines efficiently while keeping guests informed and maintaining a positive guest experience.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and enquiries, provide accurate information on hotel services and activities, and handle guest complaints in accordance with service recovery procedures.
- Conduct systematic table visits and monitor guests' reactions to ensure satisfaction, while coordinating with the restaurant team and management when necessary.
- Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the hostess stand, menus, check folders, dining areas and other assigned equipment and supplies.
- Assist the restaurant team with service operations when required, promote other F&B outlets, and perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Manager.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written.
- Pleasant personality with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-groomed, confident, friendly and professional in dealing with guests.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm during peak operating hours.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in handling reservations and seating arrangements.
- Willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.
- A positive team player who is flexible and willing to assist across different F&B outlets when required.
