Hostler 10-hr

The Yard Hostler shuttles equipment within the Distribution Center premises as needed. Working with another hostler, coordinate moves based on priorities directed by dispatch, shipping and receiving supervisors. Maintains a neat and orderly yard, anticipates trailer needs based on specific shifts.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safely operate yard tractor in professional manner

• Handle fast paced work environment

• Ability to drive in snowy or slippery conditions, as needed.

• Work in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.

• Work varying hours of the day as required. (Days, nights, weekends, and holidays)

• Fuel yard tractor and refrigerated trailers.

• Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operations.

• Record, report, and maintain trailer temperatures.

• Maintain working trailer inventory, anticipate shift needs.

• Work closely with dispatch, shipping, receiving, clean out building and security to ensure all trailer needs are met.

• Be able to prioritize trailer requests.

• Have a strong commitment to safety.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Must successfully complete Albertsons pre-employment background and drug screening.

• Over the road driving experience, a plus.
