Hampton Inn & Suites Hammond, a part of Ascent Hospitality, is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and results-driven Chief Engineer to lead our Engineering Department and oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall physical condition of the hotel.
This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the property is safe, comfortable, well-maintained, and operating efficiently while supporting an exceptional guest experience.

At Hampton Inn & Suites Hammond, the Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall operation of the Engineering Department and the physical condition of the property.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands hotel maintenance, takes ownership of building systems and preventative maintenance, develops their team, and works closely with hotel leadership to ensure a safe, comfortable, and exceptional guest environment.
What You Will Do:
• Lead and oversee daily Engineering and Maintenance operations.
• Supervise, train, coach, and develop Engineering Team members.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs and schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and suites, public areas, meeting spaces, back-of-house areas, indoor pool, fitness center, exterior spaces, equipment, and building systems.
• Troubleshoot and oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life-safety, and general building repairs.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and critical equipment issues.
• Prioritize and manage maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion and documentation.
• Maintain accurate engineering logs, inspection records, preventative maintenance schedules, and equipment documentation.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, water, fire/life-safety, and other building systems.
• Manage Engineering tools, equipment, inventory, parts, and supplies.
• Coordinate and supervise vendors, contractors, inspections, and service providers.
• Assist with budgeting, purchasing, cost control, and Engineering Department planning.
• Support property improvement projects, renovations, capital projects, and equipment replacements.
• Ensure the indoor pool, fitness center, meeting areas, guest areas, and other hotel facilities are properly maintained and operational.
• Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, company policies, safety requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular property inspections and identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, appearance, and guest satisfaction.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team on Engineering priorities and property needs.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, responsiveness, and exceptional guest service.
• Ensure the hotel remains clean, safe, comfortable, and well-functioning while meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
