We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead and inspire our maintenance team while supporting the continued improvement of our property. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our hotel.
Our property is currently undergoing an active renovation project, making project management, strong organization, and planning skills critical assets for success in this role. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the General Manager to help guide the team toward a successful and smooth reopening of the hotel once renovations are completed.
In this role, you will help drive operational excellence by supporting team development, improving building performance, and ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable maintenance operations. You will be a key leader in balancing short-term operational needs with long-term property improvement goals.
What You’ll Do

Develop and implement departmental plans and measurable goals aligned with company strategy, including operating and capital budget preparation

Collaborate with managers, supervisors, and ambassadors to identify operational needs, close performance gaps, and implement practical solutions

Oversee maintenance operations, proactively forecasting and addressing repair and infrastructure needs across the property

Support renovation and capital improvement initiatives while coordinating work with contractors and sub-trades

Forecast labour, production, and operational requirements to maintain efficient scheduling and resource use

Manage departmental budgets and prioritize work to maximize value and performance

Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to maintenance team members, supporting workflow delegation and performance standards

Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with guest service expectations and operational standards

Support guest service excellence by helping remove operational barriers and responding flexibly to special events and changing business needs

Ensure compliance with applicable safety, employment, and workplace regulations, including WCB, OH&S, and employment standards

What You Bring

Physical mobility and stamina to perform the duties of the role

Secondary School Diploma required; post-secondary education or trade certification is considered an asset

Trade certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration preferred

Minimum 3 years Journeyman status with at least 2 years of experience leading a team

Strong experience working with contractors and sub-trades

Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning

Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

Proven leadership, coaching, and team motivation abilities

Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and WHMIS training

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
