LocationMarriott Tacoma Downtown, Tacoma, Washington, United States of AmericaAbout the opportunityThe Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, team members, and property assets, monitoring hotel activity, responding to incidents and emergencies, and enforcing safety and security procedures.What you'll get to do* Patrol guest areas, public spaces, parking areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure safety and security* Monitor property activity and report suspicious behavior, safety concerns, or policy violations* Respond promptly and professionally to guest or employee incidents, emergencies, and service requests* Assist with emergency response procedures including fire alarms, medical incidents, evacuations, and disturbances* Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systemsSkills and Experience* Prior security, law enforcement, military, or hospitality security experience preferred* Strong observation and problem-solving skills* Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or difficult situations* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Basic knowledge of emergency procedures and safety practices* Ability to write clear and accurate reports* Strong customer service mindset and professional demeanor
