About Our Family

We are a warm, grounded, and active family with three kids ranging from preschool age to high school. Our household runs on structure, intention, and a lot of moving parts. We love good food, a well-kept home, and the kind of rhythm that lets everyone show up to their days feeling ready. Faith and family are central to how we live, and we take pride in a home that is organized, calm, and welcoming.

Our youngest is home midday and needs engaged, attentive care during that window. Our older two are largely independent but benefit from consistent after-school routines and a steady presence. We also have a sweet, energetic young dog who is equally part of the family.

We have a wonderful housekeeper who handles surface cleaning on Thursdays, and a professional organizer who sets up our systems on a quarterly basis. What we need is someone who can maintain what is already in place, keep the household running smoothly on our core days, and step in as a true partner to the family without needing to be managed.

Our previous household team member was with us for nearly a decade, which tells you something about how we value consistency, trust, and a genuine long-term fit.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are someone who walks into a home, reads the room, and gets to work without needing a roadmap every day. You are warm with kids, patient and playful with a young child, and professional in how you carry yourself and communicate. You leave written notes rather than mid-day texts, you follow systems rather than reinvent them, and you take pride in doing things the right way even when no one is watching.

You are organized and detail-oriented, punctual, and flexible when the day asks more of you. You are comfortable in a home with multiple food allergies, you take those restrictions seriously, and you understand that getting it right is non-negotiable. You respect that this household has its own values, rhythms, and rules, and you are here to support the family's vision, not redefine it. You are trustworthy behind the wheel with kids in the car, and you are the kind of person a family feels good about having in their home every week.

Key Responsibilities

Family Support

  • Pick up the youngest child from preschool daily at 11:45 AM; offer engaged, attentive care during awake time and supervision during rest
  • Help with occasional bus stop pickups and transportation to evening activities (e.g., dance, approximately once per week toward the end of the shift)
  • Support after-school routines for older children, including unpacking backpacks, completing homework at the table without screens, and setting the table for dinner
  • Help pack lunch for one child a couple of days per week and assist with kid-related errands as needed (school supplies, teacher gifts, etc.)
  • Offer occasional date night and travel coverage (rare, approximately 1 to 2 nights per year for couple's trips; family trips approximately twice per year)
  • Assist with pet sitting and house sitting when the family is away, as mutually agreed upon

Meal Support

  • Plan and prepare 3 family dinners per week, with additional batch-prepped meal components as time allows
  • Prepare 3 lunches per week for the adults and fresh lunches daily for the youngest child
  • Bake muffins and similar items weekly for the weekend ahead
  • Follow the family recipe book, with opportunities to suggest new recipes for family approval
  • Accommodate all dietary restrictions when preparing meals, including anaphylactic allergies to hazelnuts, sesame, peas, and carrots; gluten intolerance; allergies to soy, coconut, and seafood; no food dyes for one child; and no refined sugar in cooking. Prepare one meal for the whole family
  • Order groceries online (store pickup for main stores, Instacart for specialty items); wash, prep, and organize groceries upon arrival
  • Keep the kitchen clean and functional throughout the day, including taking out trash as needed

  • Tidy and reset household spaces daily, including dishes, wiping surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas after the morning rush
  • Help prepare the home ahead of the Thursday housekeeper
  • Assist with seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and decor using provided checklists
  • Support event and holiday preparations, including hosting for Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • Help pack children's belongings before family trips and unpack for the household upon return
