Housekeeping Specialist 1st Shift

How would you contribute?

This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Housekeeping Specialist are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility, performing general cleaning and floor care. This role also assists with minor maintenance tasks and address hazards as needed.

Essential Duties:

• Perform assigned cleaning tasks according to detailed instructions and established schedules and document completed work.
• Pick up trash throughout the building and grounds, replace liners, wash windows, and sweep or mop floors.
• Clean the tops of, around, and under machinery following required Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Use ladders safely to perform assigned cleaning tasks.
• Clean floors using powered floor cleaning equipment.
• Perform snow and ice removal on sidewalks and parking areas as required.
• Address spills and hazardous conditions immediately, including wet floors and other types of spills.
• Document completed duties accurately using cleaning cards.
• Operate industrial forklifts, including lifts.
• Replace light bulbs and fixtures as needed.
• Ability to work weekends when required.
• Maintain company attendance standards.
• Follow daily department work schedules.
• Report any food safety concerns to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• One year of related experience and/or training.
• Completion of rolling stock training to obtain license, provided upon hire.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; and communicate effectively with employees and supervisors in English
• Ability to perform mathematical operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
• Capability to utilize problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members
• Able to utilize interpersonal and communication skills in daily work
• Must be self-motivated and positive
• Flexible and adaptable
• Display highest ethical standards
• Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the office work environment is typically quiet; when visiting the production floor the noise level may be loud.
