Houseman (Hotel)

Job Title: Houseman

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Houseman to join our team. The Houseman will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the property, supporting housekeeping staff, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests/residents. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys staying active throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain public areas, hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and elevators
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste according to property procedures
• Vacuum, mop, sweep, and polish floors as needed
• Transport clean and dirty linens to/from housekeeping storage areas
• Move furniture, set up event/banquet spaces, and rearrange rooms as requested
• Restock housekeeping carts and supply closets with necessary items
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to management
• Assist housekeeping staff with heavy lifting or deep-cleaning tasks
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Respond promptly to guest or staff requests for assistance

Requirements:

• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality preferred (not required)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Reliable transportation to and from work

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push/pull carts and equipment
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures (indoor/outdoor as applicable)
• Frequent walking, standing, and physical exertion throughout shift
