Housing Administrator
Coordinate the daily operations of Daybreak’s housing programs to ensure smooth client transitions, strong landlord partnerships, and high-quality, youth-centered service delivery aligned with Housing First for Youth principles. The Housing Administrator facilitates client move-ins, maintains landlord relationships, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates with internal teams to address housing-related challenges. This role focuses on operational coordination and quality assurance, supporting a low-barrier, harm reduction approach that prioritizes stability, choice, and self-determination for youth and young adults (YYAs).
Essential duties include:
- Coordinate client transitions from the streets or shelters into Daybreak housing options, ensuring timely placements and full occupancy
- Collaborate with the YYA team to match participants with appropriate housing based on safety, proximity to transportation/school/work, and client choice
- Manage the move-in process, including unit readiness (bedbug treatment, cleaning, painting, furnishings) and required paperwork
- Meet with clients on lease agreements, program compliance, financial responsibilities, and tenant rights
- Serve as the primary liaison to landlords — build relationships, market the program, negotiate leases, and recruit new landlords willing to rent to YYAs
- Conduct and document weekly apartment inspections for Tax Credit, HUD, and funder compliance
- Provide consultation to case management teams on housing-related concerns, client crises, conflict resolution, and discharges
- Educate clients on lease contracts, tenant rights, and responsibilities
- Partner with the Housing Director on program development, data collection, and reporting
- Assist in developing and updating housing policies, procedures, and youth-friendly materials
