Description

Seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Assistant Manager to lead the design, implementation, and oversight of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across Morrison’s global operational footprint, including overseas stations, working with cross-functional teams, station EHS contacts, and external consultants as needed. The role will report to the ESG Manager of Global Security and Risk Management and be responsible for supporting compliance with all local and international EHS regulations and occupational safety initiatives, managing incident response and investigation, and contributing to EHS audits to promote a culture of safety across all stakeholders. International travel to overseas stations may be required. This position is based at headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities
-Compliance and Regulation:
Develop global EHS standards and minimum requirements, and oversee compliance with local EHS laws at headquarters and overseas stations (including Taiwan’s Occupational Safety and Health Act) and with international requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Work with the Taiwan OSH officer and station EHS contacts to monitor regulatory changes, track that local statutory obligations are met, and adjust programs accordingly.
-Occupational Health and Safety:
Lead global occupational safety and health initiatives, including developing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, setting contractor safety requirements, coordinating employee health programs, developing emergency preparedness requirements, and developing and delivering training to employees on safe work practices.
-Safety Incident Management:
Oversee the incident lifecycle, from prevention and response to thorough investigation and reporting. Analyze incident data to identify trends and drive and track corrective actions scaled across locations.
-Program Development:
Design, roll out, and manage comprehensive EHS programs tailored to the unique risks of the international freight and cargo industry, covering areas such as transportation safety, operational safety, occupational health, and environmental management (e.g., waste, energy, and emissions). Lead and coordinate external EHS consultants and service providers (e.g., for ISO 45001/14001 certification, risk assessments, and audits), including defining scope, managing deliverables, and ensuring quality.
-Auditing and Reporting:
Conduct regular EHS audits of facilities and operations to identify areas for improvement. Track EHS KPIs (e.g., LTIFR, TRIR, training completion, and audit finding closure) and present EHS performance reports to stakeholders. Provide EHS and environmental data for the GHG inventory, sustainability report, and CDP disclosure, and support customer EHS/ESG questionnaires and audits (e.g., RBA).
-Collaboration:
Act as the global point of contact for EHS-related inquiries, coordinate a network of station EHS contacts, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
