Discussion

As an Integration Engineer within the Global Enterprise Applications team, this role is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining Python-based data pipelines and system integrations on AWS, with a strong focus on data accuracy and platform stability. Working closely with System Analysts and fellow engineers, this role turns business and system requirements into reliable, well-tested, and well-documented integration solutions, and helps maintain servers and production services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Pipeline & Integration Development: Design, develop, and maintain Python-based data pipelines and system integrations (APIs and structured data such as XML/JSON/CSV) that move data reliably between enterprise systems.
  • Data Testing & Validation: Build automated tests and data validation/reconciliation checks to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of data across systems; investigate and resolve data discrepancies at the root cause.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with System Analysts, teammates, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, share progress openly, take part in code reviews, and exchange knowledge to improve team delivery quality.
  • AWS Cloud Operations: Deploy, run, and monitor integration workloads on AWS products (e.g., compute, storage, serverless, monitoring, and access management services), following security and cost best practices.
  • Server Maintenance & Automation: Help maintain standalone servers and existing production services (patching, monitoring, troubleshooting), and use Ansible and scripting to make configuration and deployment repeatable and consistent.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Hands-on Python backend development experience with solid fundamentals in writing clean, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Experience building data pipelines / system integrations (e.g., ETL/ELT, API integration, XML/JSON/CSV processing) and working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud products; work experience closely tied to AWS is highly preferred.
  • Strong awareness of data testing, validation, and correctness, including experience writing automated tests (e.g., pytest) and data quality/reconciliation checks.

Knowledge/Work Experience

  • Typically 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Python backend development, data engineering, or system integration.
  • Proven experience independently developing, testing, and maintaining production data pipelines or system integrations.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting production issues, investigating data discrepancies, and identifying root causes.
  • Experience working with AWS-based applications and relational databases.
  • Experience maintaining existing systems with incomplete documentation is preferred.

Key Behavioral Competencies

  • Able to independently deliver assigned development tasks end-to-end, including implementation, testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Demonstrates strong ownership, attention to data accuracy, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Communicates progress, blockers, and technical risks clearly and promptly.
  • Collaborates effectively with System Analysts and engineers while requiring minimal day-to-day supervision.
