HR Business Partner

In this role, you will serve as a key HR partner within the business, helping leaders navigate employee matters, strengthen team effectiveness, and support people operations across the region. You'll work closely with managers and internal HR partners to help build a thoughtful, compliant, and scalable people experience in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for district and location managers across the assigned region, building trusted advisory relationships.
  • Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and team dynamics with guidance from the HR Manager on complex matters.
  • Lead ER investigations and performance cases of moderate complexity; escalate high-risk or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
  • Support workforce planning and open role prioritization within the region in partnership with the HR Manager and TA function.
  • Assist in the people readiness process for new location openings within the assigned region, coordinating pre-opening HR tasks.
  • Analyze regional people data — turnover, ER patterns, headcount — and surface observations to the HR Manager.
  • Partner with the HR Generalist in the region on ER triage and case management.
  • Participate in manager capability development efforts within the region, supporting coaching frameworks provided by the HR Manager.
  • Develop knowledge of multi-state labor law requirements and NAKEDᴹᴰ compliance obligations across the region.

Annual starting range: $85k-105k

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters and advising managers on employee relations or performance matters, with growing comfort doing so independently.
  • Experience with investigation processes and performance management frameworks.
  • Experience partnering with district managers, regional managers, or studio managers.
  • Knowledge of California labor law.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • 1-2 years of experience in a business partner, senior generalist, or embedded HR role.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or field-based operations.
  • Proficiency with Rippling or a comparable HRIS; knowledge of Paylocity is a plus.
  • Knowledge of broader multi-state labor law.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
