Sarah Group is a diversified construction and property group, leading a collective of companies with a strong reputation across the industry.
Established in 1961, we’re driven by a commitment to deliver exceptional experiences and create distinctive value. At the heart of everything we do is our purpose to build thriving and sustainable communities.
We are seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) Human Resources Business Partner to be the trusted first point of contact for leaders and employees on day-to-day people matters.
Reporting to the Human Resources Operations Manager, you will provide practical, commercially grounded advice and support across the employee lifecycle. With our people frameworks newly established, this is a chance to shape how they work in practice – not just administer them.
The Opportunity
As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will:
- Partner with leaders across our professional services functions to identify capability shifts and build plans that maintain business performance.
- Keep the business informed on changes to the industrial and employment law landscape, and advise on potential impacts.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, with strong selection governance and hiring discipline.
- Own our onboarding and probation processes, ensuring new starters are set up for success.
- Embed our performance, talent and succession frameworks across the business.
- Coach and support managers through performance management, difficult conversations, and formal performance processes.
- Lead employee relations projects and contribute to broader business transformation initiatives.
About You
You’re an experienced HR professional who is confident giving direct advice to senior leaders, and equally comfortable rolling your sleeves up to get the work done. To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in an HR advisory or HR business partnering role, ideally in a professional services or corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law, industrial relations and employee relations.
- Excellent communication, consultation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate assertively and influence outcomes.
- Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- A genuinely collaborative approach, and the ability to build trusted partnerships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
Candidates with a knowledge of change management and organisational design principles will be highly regarded.
