About This Role

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to be the sole HR representative in Malaysia, owning both strategic HR partnership and hands-on daily HR execution locally. In this role, you will partner closely with local Tech and Revenue leaders while managing end-to-end HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and culture initiatives. You will report directly to the HR Director and play a key role in shaping the People function as our Malaysia team continues to grow.

What You'll Do

Talent Acquisition: Lead end-to-end recruitment for Technology functions. Build strong talent pipelines in the competitive AI and SaaS talent market while delivering an excellent candidate experience.
Strategic HR Partnership: Partner closely with Technology leaders to translate business goals into effective people strategies. Advise on organization design, workforce planning, team effectiveness, and people-related decisions across Technology functions.
Performance and Compensation: Drive OKR/KPI cycles and performance review processes. Partner with business leaders and HR leadership on performance calibration, compensation planning, career development, and talent management initiatives for Technology teams.
Organization Development and Culture: Design and enhance onboarding programs to accelerate new hire success. Support leadership development, team effectiveness, succession planning, employee engagement, and culture initiatives as the Technology organization continues to scale.
Employee Relations and Compliance: Handle employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. Ensure HR practices comply with Malaysian employment legislation and company policies. Maintain accurate HR data, reports, and dashboards to support data-driven decision making.

What You Bring

Must-Haves

3-5 years of HR experience, including both recruitment and HRBP responsibilities
Experience in a technology, SaaS, internet, or startup environment, with a strong understanding of how technology teams operate
Proven experience hiring for technical roles in fast-paced environments
Ability to operate independently as the sole local HR representative while partnering with regional and global HR teams
Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor law and employee relations practices
Data-driven mindset, with the ability to use HR metrics to support decisions
Full fluency in English

Experience with structured performance management frameworks
