HR Business Partner
Position Overview
A growing multi-location healthcare organization is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its team in Riverhead, NY. This hands-on and strategic role will partner with leadership and employees to support employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, compliance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate is an approachable, solutions-oriented HR professional who can build strong relationships with employees and management while helping maintain a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace. Bilingual English/Spanish capability is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership on employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, and organizational needs.
- Manage employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance concerns.
- Coach managers on employee communication, documentation, performance improvement, and effective people-management practices.
- Support workforce planning, employee retention, engagement, and organizational initiatives.
- Ensure HR practices and policies align with federal, New York State, and applicable local employment requirements.
- Partner with recruiting and operational teams to support onboarding, employee transitions, and workforce effectiveness.
- Identify HR trends and opportunities for process improvement and help develop scalable, consistent people practices.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Generalist, HR Manager, or similar role.
- Strong experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and manager coaching.
- Healthcare, medical practice, community health, or another regulated healthcare environment strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and New York employment laws and HR compliance practices.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- SHRM or PHR certification is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $115,000–$140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Full-time position based in Riverhead, NY.
