HR Data Governance Consultant
We are looking for an experienced HR Data Governance Consultant to play a key role in ensuring the quality, transparency, consistency, and trustworthiness of Human Resources data across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and executing core Data Governance activities, including metadata management, data cataloguing, data lineage, data quality, data issue management, root cause analysis, information management, and data lifecycle management.
You will work closely with HR, IT, Data Owners, System Owners, Privacy, and other governance stakeholders to ensure that critical HR data is accurately defined, properly documented, effectively governed, and fit for business, regulatory, and strategic decision-making purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain HR data catalogues, metadata, data definitions, classifications, ownership, and taxonomy within approved governance tools.
- Ensure that HR data assets comply with established Data Governance policies, standards, and processes.
- Document and maintain end-to-end data lineage across HR systems, data sources, and reports, including data flows, transformations, datasets, and dependencies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Data Quality controls for critical HR data in cooperation with Business and Technology teams.
- Investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, track remediation activities, and monitor the effectiveness of implemented controls.
- Prepare regular reports and summaries on HR Data Quality, highlighting trends, issues, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
- Work closely with both HR and IT teams and act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Communicate complex data governance topics clearly and demonstrate the business value of effective data governance and data quality processes.
- Support Data Lifecycle Management activities, including data inventory validation, record type and retention mapping, stakeholder coordination, and remediation tracking.
- Identify and follow up on data lifecycle risks and issues and ensure that appropriate documentation and audit-ready evidence are maintained.
- Coordinate multiple activities and projects simultaneously while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of professional experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, Business Analysis, Risk Management, Information Management, or a related area.
- Hands-on experience with metadata management, data cataloguing, data lineage, data quality frameworks, or similar Data Governance processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with data investigation and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

- Previous experience working with HR or People Data.
- Experience in a large, international, or complex corporate environment.
- Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Cataloguing, Metadata Management, or Data Lineage tools.
- Experience with Data Quality monitoring and control frameworks.
- Knowledge of Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, or data retention processes.
- Experience working in a privacy, compliance, risk, or audit-related environment.
- Previous project coordination or project management experience.
- Understanding of HR systems and HR data flows.
