HR Generalist/Office Manager

The Office Manager / HR Generalist is responsible for managing the day-to-day Human Resources functions while also providing general administrative and office support.

This is a hands-on role that requires a strong HR background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. While HR will be the primary focus, this position will also take on a variety of administrative and business support responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate is resourceful, adaptable, comfortable wearing multiple hats, and able to work independently.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources

  • Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers across multiple restaurant locations.
  • Manage the full range of day-to-day HR functions, including employee lifecycle administration, employee relations, investigations, compliance, legal correspondence, workers’ compensation, leave management, and other HR matters.
  • Support management with employee relations, performance, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns.
  • Conduct and/or assist with employee investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up.
  • Manage and track leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation matters, and return-to-work documentation.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, employee questions, and annual open enrollment.
  • Partner with the payroll department to resolve employee issues and ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate company policies, procedures, forms, and HR materials.
  • Assist with management training and employee development programs.
  • Monitor California employment law and compliance requirements and communicate relevant changes to management.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and practices across locations.

Office & Administrative Support

  • Oversee the organization and day-to-day needs of the company office.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files and records.
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, mail, deliveries, and general administrative needs.
  • Prepare documents, spreadsheets, reports, communications, and other materials as needed.
  • Coordinate meetings, trainings, and other relevant administrative projects.
  • Communicate with vendors, service providers, and business partners as needed.
  • Take ownership of special projects and other administrative responsibilities that support the business.
