What you’ll be doing
As an HR Generalist, you will serve as a trusted HR partner to employees and leaders, providing guidance and support across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Director of People Operations, this role supports key HR functions including employee relations, leaves and accommodations, workers’ compensation, onboarding and offboarding, HRIS administration, policy implementation, and compliance. The HR Generalist exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, identifies trends and opportunities, and appropriately escalates complex or high-risk matters to the Director of People Operations.
In this role, you will:
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers, providing timely guidance and support on policies, procedures, performance, attendance, workplace concerns, and general HR matters.
- Escalate matters appropriately when additional support or review is required.
- Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, performance management, corrective action, and consistent application of HR practices.
- Support workplace investigations by gathering documentation and relevant information.
- Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to the Director of People Operations as appropriate.
- Identify employee relations trends and recurring concerns and recommend solutions or improvements.
Leave, Accommodation & Workers' Compensation Administration
- Administer employee leave and disability programs.
- Coordinate accommodation requests and facilitate the interactive process.
- Manage workers’ compensation administration, including claim reporting, coordination with applicable parties, and return-to-work processes.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage and support employee lifecycle processes, including:
- Onboarding
- Employment changes
- Transfers
- Promotions
- Leaves of absence
- Separations
- Ensure all transactions and documentation are completed accurately and timely.
- Manage Form I-9 processes, including employment eligibility verification, documentation maintenance, and compliance monitoring
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS data.
- Conduct periodic audits to support data integrity and compliance.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports to identify trends, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with the development, implementation, communication, and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Identify compliance risks and employee relations concerns and escalate as appropriate.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Partner with the People Team to support:
- Benefits administration
- Payroll
- Recruiting
- Learning and Development
- Employee Experience initiatives
- Other People-related programs and projects
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, communication, and the employee experience.
- Support organizational initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, culture, and manager effectiveness.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of People Operations.
- Coordinate accommodation requests and facilitate the interactive process.
- Manage workers’ compensation administration, including claim reporting, coordination with applicable parties, and return-to-work processes.
