The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders in a fast paced, people-focused department. This role provides responsive day-to-day support, proactively identifies needs, and takes initiative to resolve issues efficiently. The HR Generalist role requires approachability, organization, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working autonomously to help create a positive employee experience and collaborative culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive support for the day-to-day operations and priorities of the Human Resources department, independently managing responsibilities and responding to business needs
  • Serve as an approachable and trusted resource to employees and managers, providing timely guidance on HR programs, policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the administration and tracking of leave programs, including FMLA and other leaves of absence, as applicable.
  • Coordinate administrative activities related to workers' compensation claims including documentation, communication, tracking and follow-up.
  • Support the administration, interpretations and communication of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Coordinate employee on boarding and offboarding actions to ensure an organized, efficient and positive employee experience.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations by maintaining accurate records and documentation requirements
  • Prepare HR reports, maintain accurate and confidential employee records, and support audits and recurring reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, resolve day-to-day issues, and enhance service to employees and managers.
  • Take initiative in managing special projects and HR priorities that support the strategic goals and objectives of a people-focused culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of general HR practices, processes, and employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, and/or talent management systems.
  • Proficiency with Office 365.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with employee and leaders at all levels in the company.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and proactively address day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and use sound judgment when handling sensitive matters.
