Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Serve as a first point of contact for managers and employees on routine HR questions, policy interpretation, employee relations, and process guidance.
- Coordinate full-cycle onboarding — pre-employment requirements, I-9 verification, background and drug screens, offer letters, HRIS entry, and new-hire orientation.
- Support recruiting by posting roles, monitoring campaigns, scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate communication, and partnering with the HR team on consistent, objective selection.
- Coordinate employee status changes, terminations, exit documentation, and offboarding, keeping HRIS records accurate and up to date.
- Maintain accurate, confidential employee records and data — including employee numbers and swipe-card information — in UKG/Kronos.
- Administer leave programs, including short- and long-term disability, state-mandated PFML, leave tracking, employee communications, and return-to-work coordination.
- Partner with Payroll and support managers on time and attendance, pay practices, deductions, timekeeping review, and issue resolution within UKG/Kronos.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, pay and leave requirements, timekeeping regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain job descriptions, HR policies, procedures, benefits documents, and employee-facing resources on internal systems.
- Administer UKG Pro Learning Management System activities — training records, assignments, reporting, and employee access.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through fair, consistent, and inclusive HR practices and interactions.
- Use HR technology, reporting tools, and responsible AI to improve efficiency, data accuracy, communication, and employee support.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or related experience across recruiting, onboarding, HRIS administration, records, compliance, benefits, leave, or payroll coordination preferred.
- Working knowledge of Kronos, Workforce Dimensions, or UKG HRIS — payroll, timekeeping, employee data, reporting, and workflows; UKG Pro LMS experience a plus.
- Solid grasp of employment practices, HR compliance, recordkeeping, I-9 requirements, leave administration, and confidentiality standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and HR reporting tools, plus the ability to responsibly adopt new HR technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with strong written and verbal communication, organization, follow-through, initiative, and sound judgment.
