HR Generalist

Remark: Able to start work immediately

Job Objective:

  • Execute and manage end-to-end Human Resources operations across the P staff lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, attendances & leave management, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, engagement and HR reporting to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Ensure legal compliance through all areas of HR – in line with MOM regulations, CPF, IRAS, employment legislation and all other relevant governing bodies.
  • Organise and coordinate employee engagement programmes and activities to enhance the well-being of employees and to promote employees’ engagement.
  • Support the Head of Department to manage day-to-day HR operations, initiatives and policy implementation.


Core Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Selection

  • Manage recruitment activities for P-staff level and internship placements from job posting through candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checking and offer preparation.
  • Engage hiring managers to review and update job descriptions to ensure that roles are aligned to achieve organisational goals.
  • Execute recruitment policies and processes, including identifying appropriate assessment tools and competencies to facilitate selection of suitable candidates.
  • Source for potential applicants and facilitate the recruitment of all job positions, including recommending base salaries, managing working passes and drawing up appointment letters.
  • Execute and review the effectiveness of the onboarding programme to ensure new hires are well inducted into the company culture, and manage off-boarding processes for exiting employees' clearance process.
  • Prepare confirmation, probation extension or non-confirmation documentation based on approved decisions.
  • Coordinate internship placement arrangements with polytechnics, universities and other educational institutions.

Performance, Compensation and Benefits

  • Maintain and update employee information in the HRIS and employee personal files.
  • Execute and maintain employee leave, attendance and overtime calculations.
  • Identify recurring attendance issues, prepare monthly report and escalate significant concerns to the HR Manager.
  • Administer and handle employee benefits and compensation enquiries, including insurance, claims and medical benefits.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to execute compensation and benefits as well as performance management policies and processes, and implement and communicate changes
  • Coordinate processes related to the performance management cycle yearly.

Learning and Development

  • Work with relevant stakeholders to establish and review functional competencies requirements and support internal training, employee development and competency development initiatives to build capabilities to cater for current and future needs of United Oil
  • Monitor training budget, select training partners, course registration, and review effectiveness of training programmes
  • Execute career development pathways, policies and processes with Department Heads to facilitate staff development opportunities

Employee Engagement and Well-Being

  • Plan and organise employee engagement, welfare and internal communication activities.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to develop, implement and review employee engagement, well-being and communication strategies and initiatives to ensure a motivated and effective workforce.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving employee experience, engagement and retention.
  • Facilitate the measurement of employee engagement, identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations for management’s review.

Other Duties

  • Ensure all human resources policies and procedures and Staff Handbook are updated in accordance with statutory requirements and company accordance
  • Monitor in-house trademarks for new applications and renewals.
  • Support safe management measures and activities at the workplace
  • Support general administration function including pantry replenishments
  • Prepare HR documents and records for external audits.
  • Any other duties assigned by the HR Manager
