Description

【POSITION JUSTIFICATION】
xMEMS Taiwan is growing, and HR has so far been run by a single generalist focused on day-to-day operations. To support our next stage of growth, we need to strengthen our culture, employee engagement and retention, build a competitive and transparent rewards structure, and put scalable HR processes in place. After discussion with management, we are upgrading this role to HR Manager: a hands-on HR leader who can run HR operations independently, bring their own perspective on what HR should be doing, and who is familiar with compensation structure and incentive program design.

【POSITION SUMMARY】
xMEMS is a fast-paced startup focused on delivering next-generation audio and cooling solutions. The HR Manager leads all HR matters for xMEMS Taiwan and serves as the main HR point of contact for our China, Korea and Japan entities, partnering with the team in Santa Clara. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set HR priorities, build the programs and processes a growing company needs, and make sure day-to-day HR operations run accurately and in compliance. You will work closely with all levels of the organization as a trusted advisor on people, culture and organizational matters.

【KEY RESPONSIBILITIES】
The core areas are listed below. The list is not exhaustive; we expect you to identify what HR should be doing and drive it forward.

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute an HR roadmap aligned with business goals, and set annual HR priorities and budget together with headquarters.
  • Provide advice on organization design, workforce planning and people-related decisions.
  • Track and report key HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, hiring progress and engagement, and use the data to recommend actions.

Culture, Engagement & Employee Relations

  • Lead culture and engagement initiatives, including an annual employee engagement survey and follow-up action plans with management.
  • Analyze attrition, conduct exit interviews and develop retention programs that address root causes.
  • Handle employee relations matters with fairness and discretion, and coach managers on people issues.

Total Rewards

  • Design and maintain competitive compensation structures, salary ranges and incentive programs, including bonus and MBO plans.
  • Lead compensation benchmarking (base salary, bonus and equity) using external market data, and run the annual salary review with department heads.
  • Support employee stock option administration in Taiwan, and review benefits and insurance programs to keep them competitive.

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Lead recruitment from workforce planning to offer, and strengthen our employer brand to attract strong talent.
  • Build onboarding, performance management, training and career development programs that help employees grow.

HR Operations, Compliance & Systems

  • Oversee payroll, statutory insurance, benefits administration and related tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Taiwan labor laws, maintain HR policies and work rules, and act as the company’s liaison with government authorities.
  • Improve HR systems and processes, and protect employee personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act.

Regional HR Coordination

  • Serve as the main HR point of contact for our China, Korea and Japan entities, and partner with the xMEMS HR team in Santa Clara to align policies, processes and global HR initiatives.
