HR/Payroll Workforce Consultant

Optimal, is looking for a highly organized and hands-on HR/Payroll Workforce Consultant to join our team.

This role is key in managing the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on payroll processing, workforce management, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have a generalist HR background, with payroll to support our team.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can manage day-to-day HR/Payroll operations while also identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with Greek labor and payroll legislation.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including all required declarations and submissions in ERGANI II.
  • Manage and update work schedules, shifts, attendance, overtime, absences, leaves and other payroll-related data.
  • Collect, validate and reconcile workforce and payroll data to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Operate HRM and payroll systems, including Epsilon Net Payroll, ensuring data accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients on Payroll, Workforce Management, HR, Compensation & Benefits and labor-related matters.
  • Provide hands-on HR operational support at client premises, including regular on-site visits approximately 1-2 times per week.
  • Manage employee benefits administration and respond to employee and client payroll/HR inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with Greek labor legislation, ERGANI II requirements and internal HR policies, supporting audits, statutory reporting and regulatory inspections.
  • Prepare payroll, workforce and KPI reports and identify opportunities for process improvement and reporting automation.
  • Collaborate with the Legal Department on labor law matters and provide clients with appropriate operational support and guidance.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, proactive issue resolution and continuous service improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role, including payroll processing and workforce management
  • Excellent knowledge of ERGANI, EFKA procedures, and payroll regulations
  • Solid understanding of current Greek labor and social security legislation
  • Familiarity with Business Payroll software by Epsilon Net
  • Ability to handle confidential information and solve problems effectively
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask and juggle several responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail
  • Advanced business writing and oral skills both in Greek and English
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Professional certification in Microsoft Office (MS Outlook & MS Excel)
