As the HR Systems Integration Engineer, your primary focus is to design, develop, and manage seamless integrations between HR systems, ensuring accurate and efficient data flow across platforms. Additionally, the role provides strategic support and technical expertise to optimize HR system performance and align it with organizational goals. This position bridges the gap between technical integration and system analysis, enabling the HR team to leverage technology for improved decision-making and operational efficiency.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and various internal and external systems using Workday Integration Cloud (EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, etc.).
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing for integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
- Document integration processes, configurations, and changes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding Workday integrations.
- Mentor and guide the broader Workday team to ensure the quality of solutions provided.
- Coordinate changes with Finance and HR System Analysts.
- Stay updated on Workday releases and new features related to integrations.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as a Workday integration subject matter expert.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including business users and integration partners, to validate integration requirements and ensure alignment with business processes.
- Implement a comprehensive QA process to ensure the reliability and accuracy of Workday HR integrations.
- Facilitate cross-training sessions with the FIN integrations team to share knowledge, best practices, and insights between HR and FIN integration teams, fostering collaboration and alignment across functional areas.
- Analyze and evaluate HR system functionalities, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing system performance.
- Provide high-level technical support and guidance to HR team members and other stakeholders on system-related issues.
- Lead system testing efforts for updates, enhancements, and new implementations, ensuring systems meet business needs.
- Participate in HRIS projects, providing both technical and strategic insights to align systems with organizational goals.
- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to end-users, enhancing their understanding and utilization of HR systems.
This might describe you
- Basic understanding of Workday modules: HCM, Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, Analytics, Time Tracking, and Absence.
- Experience with Workday Tenant Management.
- Ability to design and develop technical solutions that meet business, operational, risk, and technology requirements.
- Understanding of integration design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in writing documents and executing requirements, design development, and testing.
- Basic understanding of XML fundamentals and database query languages.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in response to changing business needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and all levels of management.
Other things to note
- This position is open to U.S. remote work. However, team members who reside within 20 miles of the Traverse City headquarters will follow a hybrid schedule, working from the office three days per week.
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
