HR Tech Integration Architect

Role Summary

The Integration architect designs, builds, and oversees enterprise integrations for Oracle Fusion HCM and related systems such as HR, Payroll, Benefits, Identity/IAM, Workforce Management, and Data Platforms. This role handles Oracle Integration using Boomi as the middleware; Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience is a plus. This position ensures secure, resilient, and compliant integration, promotes reusable assets, and enforces disciplined DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define HR technology integration architecture, standards, and patterns across API-led, event-driven, and batch models using Boomi, with OCI services as an added advantage.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and align solutions with business goals and user needs.
  • Provide ongoing support for Oracle HCM Cloud extracts and Boomi integrations.
  • Lead the design and development of new integrations and system enhancements, managing delivery from requirements through implementation to ensure scalable, efficient solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish API governance standards, including versioning, lifecycle management, documentation, and deprecation policies.
  • Define security standards for HR data integrations, including OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT, secret rotation, token scopes, IP allowlists, data masking, and RBAC.
  • Develop canonical HR data models and reusable mapping libraries.
  • Lead end-to-end integration solutions across Fusion HCM, payroll providers, carrier feeds (EDI/834), identity systems, Finance/ERP, and data and analytics platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Deliver carrier and payroll feeds that meet regulatory and format standards (834, 820/BAI, CSV, JSON, XML) and support auditable reconciliation.
  • Build observability through structured logging, KPI tracking, tracing, synthetic monitoring, dashboards, and proactive alerting.
  • Own incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive controls.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, GDPR/CCPA, and internal audit requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison with third parties and internal stakeholders to define, implement, and support system interfaces.
  • Share knowledge and coach less experienced team members.
  • Identify gaps, assess downstream impacts of business requirements, and recommend improvements within assigned areas.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on system functionality and application design.
  • Assess business process strengths, weaknesses, inefficiencies, and risks to inform effective process and system design.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in integration engineering or architecture, including 2+ years leading integration workstreams or teams.
  • Hands-on expertise in Oracle Integration, including process design, mapping, error handling, and deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of HCM Extracts, BIP, REST, SOAP, webhooks, messaging technologies (JMS/Kafka), and API management.
  • Experience integrating Oracle Fusion HCM with HR, payroll, benefits carriers, IAM, and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of HCM Cloud modules to interpret requirements accurately and design effective solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with delivered Oracle-to-ADP payroll interfaces.
  • Proficiency in JSON, XML, XSD, XSLT, CSV, and transformation logic, with familiarity in Groovy or JavaScript scripting.
  • Expertise in HR data security, including OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, JWT, secrets management, token rotation, and RBAC.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins, along with test automation and release management.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with SMEs, business users, and stakeholders to drive requirements gathering and business analysis.
  • Strong negotiation skills to partner with business users on requirements and advocate for system capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Boomi or OCI services is a plus.
  • Able to work in the GMT time zone with overlap during US business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in Agile environments and knowledgeable in testing methods and practices.
  • Experience with event-driven HR architecture and pub/sub using Boomi or OCI.
  • Familiarity with carrier file standards and payroll feeds.
  • Knowledge of data platforms Fusion Data Intelligence for HR analytics.
  • Certifications: Boomi Professional Developer/Architect, OCI Architect Associate/Professional, Security certifications relevant to API/Cloud.
  • Knowledge of Oracle AI concepts.
