As a People Partner, you will be part of the Global People Team and report directly to the People Head, China, based in Shanghai.
In this role, you will act as a trusted People Partner to leaders and employees across China, providing both strategic guidance and hands-on HR support throughout the employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in executing People strategies, driving organizational effectiveness, enhancing employee experience, and ensuring alignment between business priorities and People objectives. This position requires a strong combination of business partnering capabilities, HR expertise, stakeholder management skills, and operational execution in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across China, providing proactive guidance and practical People solutions that support business objectives and organizational effectiveness.
- Manage and facilitate the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, probation management, performance management, employee training and development, internal mobility, employee engagement, and offboarding.
- Partner closely with frontline managers to address employee relations matters, organizational challenges, performance concerns, and day-to-day people issues while ensuring compliance with company policies and local labor regulations.
- Drive the adoption and execution of global, regional, and local People programs, policies, and initiatives, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder alignment, and sustainable outcomes.
- Coordinate and facilitate leadership, professional, and compliance-related learning initiatives, helping build organizational capability and supporting employee growth and development.
- Gather employee feedback through various listening channels, including employee discussions and exit interviews, identify trends, and recommend actions to strengthen engagement, retention, and overall employee experience.
- Collaborate effectively with regional People teams, CoEs, Talent Acquisition, and business stakeholders to deliver consistent, high-quality People solutions.
- Leverage People data, workforce insights, and business metrics to support decision-making, identify opportunities, and develop pragmatic solutions to organizational and people-related challenges.
- Participate in People projects focused on continuous improvement, organizational effectiveness, employee experience, process optimization, and operational excellence.
- Travel within China as required to support business priorities, employee engagement activities, leadership development initiatives, and organizational needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Engineering, Science, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of HR generalist experience, including at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner, or equivalent role. Experience in semiconductor, high-tech, engineering, or industrial environments is preferred.
- Proven experience supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle within a multinational and matrixed organization.
- Solid knowledge of China labor law, employee relations, and HR compliance practices.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to combine business acumen, analytical thinking, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
- Willingness to travel domestically as business needs require.
