HSBCJP00058166 Enterprise Devops Azure / Zmiana JD na CDN&Cloud Network Engineer

Open 33d
This position is no longer accepting applications(closed Aug 19, 2026).

Summary

Senior engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting the edge layer of a global web platform using Akamai CDN/WAF, DNS, Azure networking, and TLS to ensure fast, resilient, and secure public-facing applications.

CDN & Cloud Network Engineer

The role

This is a senior, hands-on engineering position where you'll take ownership of the edge layer of a large-scale global web platform.

You'll be responsible for the technologies that ensure public-facing applications remain fast, resilient, and secure—including Akamai CDN, Akamai WAF, DNS, traffic management, and the Azure networking that connects the edge to origin infrastructure.

This is not a role focused on maintaining existing configurations. We're looking for someone who enjoys designing solutions, implementing changes, troubleshooting complex production issues, and acting as a technical authority for edge networking across the platform.

You'll collaborate closely with platform engineers, application teams, cybersecurity specialists, and infrastructure colleagues to continuously improve the reliability, performance, and security of a global digital estate.

What you'll be doing

  • Own CDN delivery across a large-scale public web estate, including caching strategy, request routing, origin management, failover, and performance optimization.
  • Manage and continuously improve Akamai WAF policies, including rule design, tuning, false-positive analysis, protection updates, and supporting live security incidents alongside cybersecurity teams.
  • Configure and operate DNS and Global Traffic Management, ensuring resilient routing, regional traffic distribution, load balancing, and high availability.
  • Manage TLS certificates and maintain secure delivery standards across the edge platform.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure networking components including Application Gateway, Load Balancers, NSGs, DNS, and traffic routing between edge and origin.
  • Investigate complex production issues by tracing requests from browser through CDN and network layers to backend services, using logs, monitoring platforms, HAR files, curl, and diagnostic tools.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point during incidents impacting availability, performance, or edge security, driving root cause analysis and long-term improvements.
  • Review technical designs and implementation changes, contribute engineering best practices, and share knowledge across the wider engineering team.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an engineer who combines deep technical expertise with curiosity, ownership, and a strong troubleshooting mindset.

You'll likely bring experience in:

  • Hands-on administration of Akamai CDN in production environments, including Property Manager, caching strategies, request routing, origin management, and performance optimization.
  • Operating Akamai WAF (App & API Protector or Kona), including policy design, tuning, false-positive management, and responding to real production attack traffic.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, caching behaviour, headers, and the complete request lifecycle from client to origin. You should be comfortable diagnosing issues using HAR files, curl, browser developer tools, and edge logs.
  • Azure networking, including Application Gateway, Load Balancers, NSGs, DNS, and traffic routing.
  • Troubleshooting complex production issues across edge, network, and application layers.
  • Communicating technical concepts clearly and producing high-quality documentation for both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Bot management and DDoS mitigation.
  • Multi-CDN environments such as CloudFront, Cloudflare, or Tencent CDN.
  • Terraform (including the Akamai provider) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Infrastructure as Code and API-driven configuration management.
  • Working within highly regulated enterprise environments with strong operational and security controls.

Why join?

This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale enterprise platform where the technologies you manage have a direct impact on the performance, resilience, and security of globally accessible digital services.

You'll have real ownership of the edge platform, work alongside experienced engineers across infrastructure, cloud, and security, and tackle technical challenges that require both deep expertise and continuous learning. If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems and want to help shape the future of a global digital platform, we'd love to hear from you.
