Human Resource Generalist
Job Description:
Position Summary
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting daily human resources operations, managing core HR processes, and serving as a trusted point of contact for employees and management. This role covers a broad range of HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, and HR policy guidance.
Location & Reporting
- Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida (On-site 5 days a week)
- Reports to: SR. HR Manager
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, including background checks, initial orientation, and IT setup.
- Conduct offboarding procedures, exit interviews, and ensure smooth transitions and final document completion.
Employee Relations & Workplace Culture
- Serve as an accessible, trusted resource for employee questions regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
- Assist managers with performance management, employee feedback, and disciplinary documentation.
- Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, inclusion, and a healthy work culture.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Maintain employee records, employment files, and HR database systems (HRIS) with high accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, ADA).
- Assist in updating company handbooks, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Benefits & Payroll Support
- Administer open enrollment, answer employee benefits queries, and assist with vendor coordination.
- Support leave-of-absence requests, including FMLA, medical, and personal leaves.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate employee status updates, compensation changes, and time-off tracking.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a generalist or multi-function HR role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Workday) and standard office productivity suites Google Workspace.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal presence.
- Discretion: High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive, organized, and skilled at resolving operational challenges efficiently.
- Adaptability: Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate employee status updates, compensation changes, and time-off tracking.
