Position: Human Resources Advisor

Work Location: Gardenland Co-op Administration Office

204 Main Street, Winkler, MB

On Site only – remote work not an option

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Reporting: Reports to Human Resources Manager

What you’ll do:

The Human Resources Advisor supports Gardenland Co-op's mission, values, and business objectives by providing professional human resources and health and safety support across the organization. This role partners with leaders to foster a positive workplace culture while supporting recruitment, employee relations, performance management, policy administration, training and development, workplace health and safety, and regulatory compliance.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through strong people, safety, and organizational outcomes achieved by delivering responsive, professional, and trusted human resources and health and safety services that enhance operational effectiveness and contribute to Gardenland Co-op's overall success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Living the Brand:

Consistently represent the Co-op brand; to know, understand and live Gardenland Co-op’s vision, mission and values.

Talent Management

Responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process for management and professional positions.

Strategic partner for talent management practices, including goal setting, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, succession planning, and competency development.

Workplace Safety & Health

Collaborate with Safety Manager and Team Leaders to support workplace health and safety initiatives by assisting with all safety programs, administrative support and conducting investigations.

Employee Relations

Responsible for HR Advisory services, conducting workplace investigations and overseeing the attendance management program.

Assist with compensation administration, wage reviews, and job evaluation processes.

Learning & Development

Facilitate and/or coordinate learning and development initiatives that support training, employee growth and organizational success.

Education & Experience:

Degree or Diploma in Human Resources preferred, however combination of skills and experience will be considered.

5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience across employee relations and talent management with strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

Experience in Health and Safety is an asset; however, we are willing to train.

Other Requirements:

CPHR designation or CPHR Candidate designation required.

Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Forms, Word and Excel.

Valid class 5 license with good driving record.

Well-rounded business acumen.

Strong interpersonal skills, excellent and articulate communication skills, ability to influence.

Willing to be on-call evenings and weekends, on a scheduled rotation, for safety incidents.
