Norel Service Company is seeking a dependable,
detail-oriented, and motivated Human Resources Assistant Intern who is
genuinely interested in building a career in Human Resources.
This is an opportunity to gain practical,
hands-on experience in HR while supporting important company-wide projects. The
primary focus of the internship will be employee-record digitization and HR
administration. As the intern develops familiarity with our systems, processes,
and organization, there may be opportunities to gain exposure to additional
areas of HR, including onboarding, HRIS administration, employee records,
compliance support, and other HR projects.
We are especially interested in someone who is
looking for more than a short-term internship and wants to learn, contribute,
develop professionally, and grow with an organization.
This position is temporary and part-time, and a
future full-time or permanent opportunity is not guaranteed. However, based on
business needs, performance, qualifications, and mutual fit, the company may
consider the intern for future employment opportunities as they become
available.
The position is fully in person at Norel’s
Littleton, Massachusetts office and reports directly to the HR Manager. The
intern may support HR projects for both Norel Service Company and its
affiliated company, NSG Life Safety, which are under common ownership.
What You'll Do
HR Records
& Digitization
You will:
· Prepare physical employee files for scanning
and digitization.
· Scan employee documents and verify that
documents are complete, legible, and properly oriented.
· Name and organize electronic documents
according to established HR filing standards.
· Upload documents securely into the appropriate
digital employee files.
· Compare physical and digital employee files
against established HR file checklists.
· Identify missing, incomplete, duplicate,
illegible, or potentially misfiled documents for review by the HR Manager.
· Organize and maintain physical employee files
throughout the digitization process.
· Maintain
an accurate project tracker showing completed files, uploaded documents, and
outstanding items.
HR
Administration & HRIS Support
As you become familiar with our processes, you
may also assist with:
· HRIS implementation and employee data entry.
· Document migration and data validation.
· Employee onboarding support.
· Preparing new-hire paperwork and onboarding
materials.
· Organizing completed onboarding documentation.
· Maintaining HR records and documentation.
· Supporting HR administrative projects.
· Developing organizational and administrative
skills through hands-on HR work.
Learning
& Professional Development
This
internship is designed to provide practical exposure to the day-to-day
operations of Human Resources in a growing organization.
You

Massachusetts office
· Ability to work fully on-site during scheduled

· Prior office, administrative,
records-management, or HR experience
· Experience using:
o Microsoft Office
o Microsoft OneDrive

· Experience with HRIS systems or other business

Confidentiality
& Data Security
This position involves access to confidential
employee and company information, including employee records and other
sensitive information. The selected candidate will be required to follow all
company policies related to confidentiality, data security, system access, and
secure document handling. The intern will not independently make decisions
regarding employee discipline, investigations, accommodations, benefits eligibility, employment status, legal
compliance, or destruction of company records. Any questions or concerns
regarding confidential information or employee records must be brought to the
HR Manager.
Schedule & Duration
This is a temporary, part-time internship
expected to average approximately 30–35 hours per week.
The schedule may be arranged around academic
commitments but must generally fall within regular business hours,
approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, when the HR
Manager is available on-site.
The internship is expected to last
approximately 12–16 weeks or until the employee-record digitization project is
substantially completed.
The internship may be extended based on project
needs, performance, and company approval. The total anticipated duration will
generally not exceed six months.
This internship does not guarantee future
employment or conversion to a permanent position. However, future opportunities
may become available based on business needs, performance, qualifications, and
mutual fit.
Compensation
· $20.00 per hour
· Part-time, temporary, nonexempt position
· Academic credit may be supported when requested
by the intern and approved by the educational institution.
· Academic credit does not replace hourly
compensation.
As a temporary, part-time position, the
internship is generally not eligible for the company's regular employee benefit
plans, except for benefits or leave required by applicable law.
Physical
Requirements
This
position requires the ability to:
· Sit or stand for extended periods of time
· Use a computer, scanner, keyboard, and standard
office equipment.
· Frequently handle paper files, folders, and
documents.
· Lift, carry, and move file boxes weighing up to
approximately 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
