Human Resources Assistant, Temporary Project
Position
Summary
This project
centers on employee-record digitization and HR administration, with room to
grow. You will build familiarity with our systems, processes, and organization,
opportunities may open up to gain exposure to additional areas of HR such as onboarding,
HRIS administration, employee records, compliance support, and other projects.
The role is fully in-person at Norel's Littleton, Massachusetts office and
reports directly to the HR Manager, supporting HR projects across both Norel
Service Company and its affiliated company, NSG Life Safety, which operate
under common ownership.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
HR Records & Digitization
• Prepare
physical employee files for scanning and digitization.
• Scan
employee documents and verify that documents are complete, legible, and
properly oriented.
• Name and
organize electronic documents according to established HR filing
standards.
• Upload
documents securely into the appropriate digital employee
files.
• Compare
physical and digital employee files against established HR file
checklists.
• Identify missing,
incomplete, duplicate, illegible, or potentially misfiled documents for review
by the HR Manager.
• Organize
and maintain physical employee files throughout the digitization
process.
• Maintain an
accurate project tracker showing completed files, uploaded documents, and
outstanding items.
HR Administration & HRIS Support
• As you
become familiar with our processes, you may also assist with:
• HRIS
implementation and employee data entry.
• Document
migration and data validation.
• Employee
onboarding support.
• Preparing
new-hire paperwork and onboarding materials.
• Organizing
completed onboarding documentation.
• Maintaining
HR records and documentation.
• Supporting
HR administrative projects.
• Developing
organizational and administrative skills through hands-on HR work.

Requirements
Required
Qualifications
- Interest in Human Resources, Business
Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, Information
Systems, or related fields
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and
time-management skills
- Basic proficiency with
computers and electronic document management
- Ability to follow established procedures
and ask questions when information is unclear
- Reliable transportation
to Littleton, Massachusetts office
- Ability to work fully on-site during
scheduled hours
Preferred
Qualifications
- Prior office, administrative,
records-management, or HR experience

Confidentiality
& Data Security
This
position involves access to confidential employee and company information,
including employee records and other sensitive information. The selected
candidate will be required to follow all company policies related to
confidentiality, data security, system access, and secure
document handling. You will not independently make
decisions regarding employee discipline, investigations,
accommodations, benefits eligibility, employment status, legal compliance,
or destruction of company records. Any questions or
concerns regarding confidential information or employee records must
be brought to the HR Manager.
Schedule
& Duration
This is a
temporary, part-time project expected to average approximately 30–35 hours
per week.
The schedule
may be arranged around academic commitments but must generally
fall within regular business hours, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, when the HR Manager is available on-site.
The role is
expected to last approximately 12–16 weeks or until the
employee-record digitization project is substantially completed.
The role may
be extended based on project needs, performance, and company approval. The
total anticipated duration will generally not exceed six
months.
This role does
not guarantee future employment or conversion to a permanent position. However,
future opportunities may become available based on business needs, performance,
qualifications, and mutual fit.
