Human Resources Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator provides operational and administrative support to the Human Resources department by coordinating day-to-day HR activities, maintaining employee records, supporting recruiting and onboarding, assisting with benefits administration, and ensuring HR processes are completed accurately and in compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. This position serves as a resource for employees and managers on routine HR matters while supporting department initiatives that contribute to an exceptional employee experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing and processing onboarding documentation, scheduling orientation, and ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
- Coordinate offboarding activities, including separation documentation, exit paperwork, and company property tracking.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with record retention requirements.
- Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and other personnel transactions within the HRIS.
- Assist with benefits administration by coordinating eligibility communications, enrollment documentation, and responding to routine employee benefit questions.
- Assist with monthly benefits reconciliation and employee record updates.
- Monitor and respond to the HR inbox, HR voicemail, and other employee requests, ensuring timely follow-up or escalation as appropriate.
- Support recruiting when necessary activities by coordinating job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, background checks, and onboarding activities.
- Prepare HR reports and recurring administrative reports.
- Assist with compliance activities, including I-9 administration, personnel file audits, and other HR compliance initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining HR forms, templates, standard operating procedures, and employee communications.
- Respond to routine employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment processes.
- Escalate employee relations concerns, policy interpretation questions, workplace investigations, accommodation requests, leave administration, workers' compensation matters, OSHA-related matters, and other complex HR issues to the HR Manager.
- Participate in HR projects designed to improve operational efficiency, employee experience, and department effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a willingness to develop knowledge in additional Human Resources functions through cross-training and professional development opportunities.
- Keep up to date with current HR trends, employment practices, and applicable employment laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
