Human Resources Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Human Resources Coordinator, you will be required to provide advice on a wide range of HR-related matters, build relationships with external partners, and manage staff as a member of the country's senior management team. HR Coordinators are members of the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) country management team in the country where they are posted. As such, these specialists must represent MSF and cooperate with national authorities and other non-governmental organizations on relevant matters.

You will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing all HR-related policies across all projects that MSF carries out in a given country or region. You will work closely with the HR teams at the national office and at project level to ensure that the staffing needs of all projects are met. You will provide support and guidance on a wide range of HR-related matters, including staff development. You will ensure the smooth functioning of MSF while ensuring compliance with labour laws in the country of operation. You will be responsible for the management, training, and supervision of locally recruited HR staff. You will be part of the project management team. While your base will remain in the capital, you will regularly visit projects.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant degree or diploma in HR management and administration

  • Minimum two years relevant experience in a senior HR role, such as HR Director, or HR Manager

  • Proven practical experience in HR management (including the development of HR policies and principles)

  • Ability to understand and function in different legal environments

  • Proven ability to work as part of a senior management team, including project planning responsibilities

  • Experience in managing staff in a multicultural team (supervision and training)

  • Fluency in English and French (Intermediate+, minimum level B2 in both). Refer to this evaluation grid . Other languages such as Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese are valued, but not required.

  • Relevant travel or work experience in contexts similar to where MSF works (armed conflicts, disasters, public health emergencies or situations of healthcare exclusion)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

  • Available to work nine to 12 months
