Human Resources Coordinator
The Human Resources Coordinator supports and administers core human resources functions across the agency, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle documentation. This position develops, implements, and maintains HR procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency. The HR Coordinator serves as a professional and confidential resource to employees and supervisors while supporting a positive workplace and promoting the agency’s values and mission.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND TASKS
• Manage full-cycle recruitment activities by partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, posting job opportunities, screening and evaluating candidates, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, preparing and disseminating offer letters, and facilitating a seamless transition through the hiring and onboarding process
• Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on industry standards, and the needs of the organization
• Develop and maintain expertise in the agency's HRM system to manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, personnel file updates, and offboarding
• Ensure agency compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and contractual and accreditation requirements
• Assist with drafting and revising agency policies & procedures and the employee handbook, based off federal state and local employment laws and regulations, contractual and accreditation requirements, and best practices
• Develop, build, and document HR procedures and workflows
• Create and maintain the agency’s library of detailed and accurate job descriptions and job postings
• Conduct new hire orientations
• Create and implement strategies to enhance new employees’ onboarding experience
• Serve as the primary point of contact and provide guidance on all employee relations issues
• Identify complex/sensitive matters that require input from legal counsel or the CEO
• Assist with employee benefits, including facilitating enrollment, processing benefit changes, coordinating with vendors and organizing employee education sessions
• Field employee questions regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage, and available plan resources, referring complex questions to the appropriate provider
• Schedule and conduct exit interviews with staff
• Liaison with specified vendors
• Adhere to policies and procedures
• Represent the mission of the agency at all times
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred
• 1-3 years of previous experience in HR preferred. Relevant education, internship experience, and transferable experience will also be considered
• Engage in proactive problem solving and critical thinking practice, and take initiative to implement solutions
• The ability to work effectively and proactively with vendors
• Successfully pass a criminal background check
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to execute matters related to human resources
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and timely
• Software Skills Required: Microsoft Office Suite, HRM Software, Benefit Platforms, Adobe
• Accommodate candidates and employees by being flexible with one’s time
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle throughout the duration of employment
• Ability to work in harmony with co-workers
The HR Coordinator is required to be flexible by adjusting their normal hours to meet agency and candidate needs. This is a remote/hybrid position that will be scheduled 20-25 hours per week, with the requirement that 80% of weekly hours are worked in office.
