Job Designation Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources support across the organization in all areas of Human Resources, i.e., recruitment, onboarding, benefits, HRIS administration, documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements associated with operating as a local, state and federal government contractor.

Essential Duties, Specifications, Core Competencies:

  • Serve as an onsite HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, benefits, procedures and employment-related questions.
  • Provide guidance to managers regarding recruiting, employee performance, attendance, conduct, corrective action, and other employee relations matters.
  • Recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate and pre-employment screening, interview scheduling, employment offers, new-hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Form I-9, E-Verify, and other required employment documentation while maintaining electronic applicant and recruiting records.
  • Assist employees with new hire and annual benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and related questions.
  • Administer FMLA, military leave, disability-related leave, paternal and other applicable leave programs in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Support annual performance reviews, promotion, transfer and succession-planning processes.
  • Assist managers with job descriptions, classifications, and compensation reviews
  • Maintain accurate employee information in HRIS (UKG Pro) and CostPoint
  • Support compliance with and prepare reports for OFCCP, AAP, FLSA, VETS-4212, FMLA, ADA, USERRA, EEO, Form I-9, E-Verify and other applicable requirements and audits.
  • Protect confidential and sensitive employee and company information.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employee and manager training and maintain records and certifications.
  • Prepare separation documentation and communicate final employment requirements, conducting exit interviews.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and Human Resources practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and proficiency in UKG Pro (HRIS system) and reporting a plus
  • Working knowledge of affirmative action, EEO-1 and VETS-4212 compliance reporting
  • Knowledge and experience in automating the new hire onboarding process and documents
  • SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR and/or CPSP certification

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred
  • Three to five years of progressive HR Generalist experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience may be considered
