Human Resources Generalist
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist (HR Generalist) to support the McDermott Indonesia Fabrication Office throughout the employee lifecycle. This role provides day-to-day HR operational support, covering onboarding, employee relations, industrial relations, compensation and benefits administration, HR operations, and reporting.
The successful candidate will support a large and dynamic workforce within a fabrication environment and will be responsible for partnering closely with business leaders and employees across various functions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing HR operations for a sizable employee population, including Industrial Relations (IR), workforce management, employee engagement, and labor law compliance.
Experience supporting large-scale manpower populations in labor-intensive environments such as fabrication, manufacturing, construction, shipyard, oil & gas, logistics, mining, or similar industries is highly preferred.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Operate within established guidelines, exercising sound judgment to address moderately complex issues and resolve them through prompt action
- Provide timely, accurate advice and guidance on general HR inquiries, including policies, processes, employee relations, and benefits
- Prepare offer letters and employment contracts in compliance with company policies, local laws, and regulatory requirements
- Manage end to end onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting orientation sessions, exit interviews, and updating relevant systems
- Oversee compensation processes such as salary reviews and promotions, and support annual programs including the merit review cycle
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence on global initiatives
- Maintain HR systems and related platforms as required
- Generate monthly and ad hoc HR reports by compiling, analyzing, and visualizing data
- Recommend process improvements and innovations to enhance operational efficiency
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not essential
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as HR Generalist, preferably from Fabrication Industry, or company with large-scale manpower populations in labor-intensive environments
- A good understanding of HR principles and practices
- Experience with HR Systems e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build good relationships
- Capability to apply discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality
