This is a part-time (20 hours/week), position with expected hours to be worked during business hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

Job Summary:

Under supervision, the Human Resources Clerk will provide receptionist and clerical duties for the Human Resources department; maintaining updated and accurate personnel records and documentation for student employment and in maintaining the confidentiality of all personnel records and files.

Essential Job Functions:

Assist with New Student Employee Orientation for all new student employees to include the completion and processing of the required hiring paperwork and review of policies as required
Input and maintain I-9 files and logs
Follow policies and confidentiality to safeguard data and information
Store all paperwork in designated places securing the important documents at all times
Check incoming paperwork (correspondence, invoices, etc) and distribute to appropriate HR personnel
Maintain filing system to ensure personnel files are updated and organized
Ensure customer service is conducted in a courteous and professional manner to customers and all other employees
Answer telephones and inquiries from students, staff, and community regarding the recruitment and employment process
Type memos, correspondence, and miscellaneous reports pertaining to student employment
Screen telephone calls and distribute incoming mail
Photocopy and print material and information as required
Maintain strict adherence to department procedures and processes

Other clerical duties as assigned

Customer Service & Collaboration:

Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments

Safety:

Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately

Requirements:

Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing

Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)

Work Environment:

General office environment
Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking around campus.
The working environment is generally favorable
Lighting and temperature are adequate
There are no hazardous or unpleasant work conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Work is generally performed in an office environment, with standard office equipment available

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, lower, push and pull loads ranging in weight from 5-35 lbs
